Stargon Browser 4.9.3

update history

  • Fixed crash problem when saving images.
  • Fixed tab search function issue.

hello. There is a problem with version 4.9.2, so we are deploying a new version.

The browser crashes when saving images in data URI format.

It is a problem with a major function and a function that can be used frequently, so we have to patch it first.

In addition, there was a problem that only one character of the tab search (magnifying glass icon on the tab screen) was searched, so it has been fixed.

  1. Hi,

Great app! But there is a bug running on my phone (android 12). When trying to download files from an http or https web site which requires basic authentication, i.e. username/password, the download always fails (http code 401) even though the username/password has already been successfully authenticated when browsing the web page. Both Firefox and Chrome can download the files without any issue.

    Can you please fix?

    Thanks a lot

    1. Hi,
The download issue is currently being continuously improved.
Could you please tell me the site name or domain address where the download is not working properly?

If it is difficult to leave it publicly, please send it to [email protected]

      1. Hi,

You can run such a web site on your own computer for testing purpose as long as you have python3 installed. There are some github projects for “http server with basic auth”. E.g. I used this one: https://gist.github.com/lionelyoung/8cad668d4d30fa392842fa08d50d2bc6
Just copy the code and save in a local folder with a name, e.g. h.py. Then from within this local folder, start a terminal or command prompt window, then run the command: python3 h.py -u star -p gon -b 0.0.0.0
Suppose your android phone is on the same network as your PC, use Stargon to access http://:8000. In the pop-up window, enter “star” as the username and “gon” as the password. Then you’ll see the web page showing all the files in the local folder. Try to download any file – it will fail.

        Thanks

        1. Hi,
Thank you for writing in detail about the problem.
Based on the information you provided, the problem has been confirmed, and in the next version, downloads are also possible through “Authorization Basic” authentication.
An update will be available in a few days.
          Thanks for your comments.

  2. Great browser!
Please add option to turn the screen always on.
And option to change icon for the bookmarks.
    Thanks
